My name is Steve Sorrell. I have been collecting minerals for more than 30 years. My collecting habits are very eclectic, and I have specimens that may be common or rare, aesthetic or ugly, have a history, or perhaps that "je ne sais quoi", an intangible quality that makes something distinctive or attractive.
My collection has been built up through field collecting (mostly in my younger days!), trades, or from purchases at shows or online. I offer here specimens that are surplus to my requirements, be they replacements from when I have upgraded, duplicates, or simply excess material that I have acquired. Proceeds from the sale of specimens go back into my hobby.
You might notice that many specimens listed are small in size. A large percentage of my collection is this way. I am not a micromounter, but a collector of microminerals. Why? Storage requirements are less, perfection and rarity are a factor, and price. It does not cost a lot of money to put together a good collection. However, good lighting and magnification are a must.

Storage and e-Commerce
Designed to be powerful and easy to use, this site keeps navigation to an absolute minimum. The focus is on functionality, not clutter, so your visitors can find what they want, see if they like it and then buy.
Visitors to the site can search and explore your minerals, with all the necessary information at their fingertips. Shipping costs are calculated, using your preferred carrier’s rates and PayPal takes care of payment.
I accept payment through Paypal. My website automatically combines multiple item orders into a single shipment and creates a combined invoice with shipping cost to the address that you provide during checkout.
I do my utmost to pack minerals so that they do not get damaged in transit. All minerals are photographed prior to shipping. Should your minerals arrive in a damaged state please contact me and I will reimburse you immediately, no questions asked. Wherever possible, recycled packing materials are used.
Your parcel is shipped within 72 hours from receipt of payment using the most economical method. If you require insurance or expedited shipping, please enquire.
I do my best to accurately capture, classify and document my minerals. I do not process images to an extent where they are no longer realistic. Differences in monitors and ambient light will influence colours and lustre suggested by the photos.
In the unlikely event that you are not happy with your purchase, kindly return the minerals to me within 14 days of receipt and I will refund the full amount, provided that it is in the same condition as originally supplied to you.
Duties and Taxes
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.
I do not give out any of your information that has been submitted to this website. This includes personal information, email addresses or private correspondence.
